The first stop on our family trip last week was the Swarovski crystal factory. It was super cool and outside there were all these weird statues and things and this fun fountain.
On the way inside there was this crazy tunnel!
Inside the museum we found the shoe they used in the new Cinderella movie
And some ruby Slippers
Then we continued our drive down to Brixen, Italy (the very corner of the mission). On the way we wound through the mountains and little Dorfs and found this really cute church with like one bench to worship.
The sunset was great and the view was amazing!
The next day we rode a cable car up a mountain and hiked up there a little bit.
The Dolemites were SPECTACULAR!
Then we rode these nifty little bikes ALL the way down the mountain.
Afterwards we hiked around a bit more and found this cool waterfall.
And a REALLY old church. This one had cracks all over.
Then that night we had dinner with the missionaries and walked around the picturesque city.
It was so perfect!
We had AMAZING ice cream too.
Walking around Brixen there were all these fountains that had signs saying you could drink out of them and I just thought this one looked really funny.
On Wednesday we woke up and explored this place close to the hotel that was some old monastery or something, but looked really old.
President was really interested in this ANCIENT wooden door.
There were also lots of beautiful vineyards which really made it feel like Italy.
After walking around we drove to Klagenfurt, Austria where we had dinner with the missionaries and relaxed that night.
The next morning we headed over to the working space of one of our senior couples here so they could show us what they do because it is really quite special. What they do is take pictures of REALLY old records that are then able to be indexed. Here were some of the incredibly old records they worked with.
After that we headed to a little park place called Minimundus that had mini buildings and things from all over the world on a very small scale.
This was a church that I saw in Brussels in real life
Tosha and Neuschwanstein
This was the Silent Night chapel that we have been to in real life
This is the Riesenrad that we have ridden in real life
And the whole place
After Minimundus we drove to a little town where our Grandpa Kohler served on his misson and it was really cool to see.
Then we went to this really cool REALLY OLD castle and walked around. There was even a church there that was originally built in like 927!
I signed my life away in the scary dungeons
After that we headed off to Graz.
On Friday morning we went to Eggenberg Palace and walked around the grounds where there were beautiful peacocks.
Then we decided to see some more cool things in Graz like this double spiral staircase that is really famous. It is two staircases that spiral around each other kind of. It's really weird!
We also went up inside a clock tower and saw that. When the hour changed it was very loud and crazy!
These were the stairs we took all the way down.
On Saturday I got up and went running with my Dad through some fields where there was some crazy lightning and thunder! Then we drove towards home and stopped to see the church where the wedding in the Sound of Music was filmed. There was also a wedding taking place there at that moment! Then we bought stuff for a picnic and ate down by a nice lake. Then we headed ALL the way home!
