Yesterday we went to a stake event held at our church building called Sommerfest which means Summer Fest. There were about as many people there as would be at a ward party in Provo, but they were from all over the stake which is pretty big geographically so it was a little weird. I made friends with these really nice American girls too that will probably be at EFY so that was really fun. So there were lots of games and food and face painting. We also had a water balloon fight and there was even a pinata. The missionaries were there from all over the stake too and all the members and especially the kids LOVE them. Some of the elders made the mistake of getting their faces painted by the kids and they ended up with lipstick and flowers and one of them even got their whole ear painted red. Inside and out. It was pretty funny. These are pictures of one of the games we played. Two people stand on benches opposite each other and they use the sticks to try and push each other off. You can't hit them, but you can kind of nudge them and just push them until they fall off and the the first one to fall off loses. It was funny to see the missionaries fighting their president. This is the best picture of all. If you look at my Dad's face it just explains it all.
At one point some of the elders decided they wanted to joust. That was a sight to behold.
Like I said there was face painting and this is what I got. After running around and sweating and the water fight I ended up with a smudged and decapitated bird.
Over all it was a really fun day and it helped us get closer to the people in our stake and we just had an AWESOME time.
